Whether your ideal hike is a few hours or few days, you’ll find fascination in every step as you discover Ontario’s nature trails. Ontario offers everything from urban trails that let you explore the towns and cities, to wilderness trails where it’s just you and nature.

Many of our walking and hiking trails follow the routes of the aboriginals and explorers. Others are rail trails that have been converted from rail lines.

For walkers and hikers, most trails are open to use and free of charge, but please look for posted signs and proceed accordingly. Also, many trails are mixed use, so you may encounter cyclists, horseback riders or motorized vehicles.

For more information, visit the hiking and walking page on the Ontario Trails Council website at: http://www.ontariotrails.on.ca/trail-activities/hiking-walking/

This is North America’s largest collection of hand-carved, one-of-a-kind totem poles. Over 500 have been placed in the beautiful Niagara Parkway setting overlooking the Niagara Glen and Great Gorge. Some of the trees used are gathered from those that have fallen or died in Niagara Parks, while others have been purchased from local Mennonite communities.

Master Carver Frank Kim presents regular on-site carving and interactive demonstrations. Kim is working on a recreation of a War of 1812 battle, all done in carved totem poles. Kim has even carved some totem poles for a nine-hole mini putt golf, which is included in your admission.

Niagara Glen is located 8 km north of the Falls, just south of the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens and Butterfly Conservatory.
